Virginia unites with Victoria to develop new land on Cape Breton

A consortium of Virginia residents is building a 100-acre farm on the Cape Breland Island of Labradorite, the first of its kind in Canada.

The property will be developed for farming, and will be the first in Canada to be developed with the assistance of the Province of Nova Scotia.

The project is part of a $1.6-billion initiative announced in March by the province to create a new Nova Scotia industry that will boost the province’s economy and improve its rural environment.
